Growing up, school itself was hard for me — sitting still at a desk all day didn’t work for my neurodivergent brain, which needed movement and hands-on learning to really absorb anything. That’s exactly why multisensory learning and play are at the center of how I teach today.

We’re in the middle of a literacy crisis in North America, and too many children are struggling to read — not because they can’t learn, but because they haven’t yet had the right kind of instruction. I’ve been teaching since 2011, and over the years I saw how many children were falling through the cracks without the support they needed. That’s why I left the classroom to start my own private practice: I want to close those gaps, lower the number of struggling readers, and help kids build real confidence and self-esteem along the way.

I’ve spent the past several years completely immersed in Science of Reading research — how our brains actually learn to read, and what it takes to teach that well. I’m a certified Orton-Gillingham Associate (A/OGOA), which included a 100-hour hands-on practicum— real-time, supervised teaching hours, not just coursework. I also have additional training through the International Dyslexia Association and The Reading League, and I’ve mentored literacy teachers around the world.
